Fried Ice Cream with Debbie Smeatham
Ingredients
- 6 Cups Cornflakes crushed
- 1/2 Cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
- 1 Stick Salted Butter
- 1/2 Gallon favorite Vanilla Ice Cream softened
- 8 oz. Cool Whip softened
- 2 Teaspoons Vanilla
Instructions
- Remove ice cream and cool whip from freezer to soften. We removed from freezer and placed in the fridge for 1 1/2 to 2 hours prior to beginning.
- Place cornflakes in a Ziploc bag, and crush with rolling pin.
- Add sugar and 1/2 of the cinnamon to the cornflakes and mix well.
- Melt butter in a large frying pan. Once melted, add cornflakes mixture and brown. This will take approximately 8 - 10 minutes.
- Mix softened ice cream and cool whip together with remaining cinnamon and vanilla.
- In a 9 X 13 pan, pour half the cornflakes mixture into the bottom and press firmly to make a crust.
- Pour ice cream mixture on top of cornflake crust.
- Sprinkle remaining half of cornflake mixture on top of ice cream.
- Place in freezer for at least 4 hours before serving.
- Once hardened, drizzle with your favorite caramel and chocolate syrups.
- Serve and enjoy!
